I can't express.......

I can’t express how grateful I am to have had a visit from Summer.  I honestly feel like she stepped into my life at just the right time.  She instantly made me feel comfortable and I felt like I could talk to her about anything!

Summer was beautiful with my baby Maggie, interacting with her while we chatted.  The two hours i spent with Summer went by so so quickly.  The conversation flowed and I was left with a big list of practical strategies to help Maggie sleep for longer stretches, better sleep-hygiene practices for me, helpful tips for how to get through the early evening (when I start to crash) and the best bit, transitioning back to work (and how to live the life I’ve always imagined).

I would thoroughly recommend Summer’s services to any new mother.  If I had it my way, I’d book Summer to come and ‘chat’ every month.

Thank you so much Summer. – Chantel Mitchell

Before I contacted Summer, I was really struggling to get my little one to sleep more than 2 hours at a time overnight.

I was beyond exhausted and pretty desperate for help! Summer gave me the confidence to try out different ideas and techniques.

I have since found a few things that have helped, and last night he slept through!

Summer has a lovely manner and is very easy to communicate with.

I highly recommend getting in touch with her if you need any help with your baby. Kim

Failing to thrive...I felt lost...

Hi Summer, just wanted to say thank you so much again for your call yesterday!

I cannot tell you how amazing you are and the support you provide! It’s like a mini psych session/ a mum hug all mixed in with sleep help!

You are just a wonderful human!  Happy Day!

Failing to thrive...I felt lost...

I first met Summer in April when my daughter Isabelle  was admitted to the RHH with failure to thrive at two weeks. It was here I heard about here consultancy business and the services she provided.

Recently, Isabelle took a turn for the worst and I was at a loss as to what was wrong. She appeared pale and floppy and was choking and vomiting every feed. I'd seen two paediatricians at this point, both fantastic but as Isabelle had a tendency to fluctuate with feeding and muscle tone and It was difficult to understand what was going on given there were a number of contributing factors with her health. This is when I called Summer to come and see Isabelle and I am so glad I did.

Summer was incredible! She came over as soon as I called her and we went through all of Isabelle's medical history and spoke about the different options we had in order to figure out what was happening with Isabelle. She contacted medical professionals on my behalf to review Isabelle and when we ended up in hospital due to Isabelle having bronchiolitis, Summer made sure we were seen immediately and spoke to the Paediatrician on call and provided them with all of Isabelle's medical history.

I am certain if it hadn't been for Summer’s assistance and advice we would not be in the position we are today. We are so grateful for Summers professionalism and her expertise and would highly recommend her to any family looking for advice or support.

Summer kept in touch with me throughout our journey and has been the most amazing support to us as a family.'   - Helen Irvine

I feel so lucky to have met Summer, thank you for validating me, encouraging me to follow my instincts and reminding me that I am my child’s advocate.

After 9+ months & ongoing of issues with child health/ sickness ears/grommets/ skin issues/ sleep deprivation, I have learnt to go with the flow and follow my child’s lead as well as feeling centred within my own parenting style vs the pressure of books, google, others opinions of what we should be doing.

Summer helped with some great practical tips for self care and enhancing my child’s development which is so important to me.

Thank you Summer xx Kate Shaw

Summer was a delight to have help us with our baby's sleep. She had many options for us to consider and didn't suggest we do anything we weren't comfortable with. Her availability for follow-up consults was very valuable.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Summer Breeze to others. Liz Powers

A breathe of fresh air....

Hi Summer, best of luck in the final stage of the awards - you deserve the accolades!!

Summer of Summer Breeze Consultancy was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I had a 10 week old baby at that time that wasn't sleeping anywhere but on my chest, wasn't following the sleep training 'rules' outlined by all the books, cried constantly and as a result my confidence as a brand-new mum was rock bottom. I was sleep deprived, completely anxious about leaving the house and looking like a failure, hadn't slept next to my partner since we came home from the hospital and felt terribly isolated and alone. I was a 41 year old woman who prided herself in being organised, together and orderly. Well hadn't that done a massive 360!!!

Summer visited our home and stayed for hours. She was like a breath of fresh air and I hope she won't mind me saying that she was our 'Mary Poppins!'. She has this beautiful, gentle, positive manner and immediately felt like the right fit to help our struggling family.

She listened to our problems and made several suggestions that were going to be hard for little George to grasp initially but with time and perseverance it would click. George needed gentle coaxing at that time in his life and Summer gave us options to try - not a one size fits all approach.

Summer's visit changed everything for us. After a rocky couple of days with lots of changes for a young bub (and his parents!), George slept in his cot for the first time. His parents slept in their bed together for the first time in nearly 12 weeks. We gained confidence and a happier baby that cried less.

Being a new parent is without a doubt the most overwhelming time in our lives and Summer's business and expertise is EXACTLY what our community needs. Our family loves her and recommends her to every struggling parent we know. Thank you to our 'Mary Poppins'. xoxo

After 5 months of hell I finally have my beautiful happy little boy back. Even though I’m a first time Mum, I just knew something wasn’t quite right with Beau. He was constantly whinging, crying, screaming and was always sticking his fingers in his ears. After seeing our paediatrician back in May who said “unless there is puss coming out of his ears they are fine” and seeing our GP who most recently said “you might just have a difficult child,” we finally got some answers.

After seeking a third opinion and demanding a referral to see an ENT specialist Beau now has grommets and after only a few days, he is like a new boy. After coming out of surgery the Dr said that there was so much thick mucus in his ears that it was probably affecting his hearing on top of the constant pain and discomfort.

A massive thank you must go to Summer Gwynne from Summer Breeze Consultancy who saw Beau back in May saying she thought his behaviour was ENT related and gave me the confidence to trust my instincts and seek second and third opinions.

Also a big thank you to Dr Daniel McCormick who listened and trusted what I said and had Beau booked in for surgery within 2 weeks. To my amazing Mum for her incredible love and support, for sending meals from Launceston when I was eating bowls of cornflakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for taking my daily calls when I was a blubbering mess, and last but certainly not least, to my amazing husband Daniel Hassett who came home from work on multiple occasions when I could no longer cope and held everything together.

The moral of the story is, as a mother, especially a first time mother, trust your instincts. Nobody knows your child better than you. 💕 – Sarah Hassett
